Economic Impact
Jackie Robinson being the first African American to play the game, brought many more African Americans to play and watch the game. Robinson playing baseball the league made $200,000 more because lots of people were coming to watch the games. What ever venue Robinson and the Dodgers played at, there was sure to be an enormous African American crowd there watching. The Dodgers alone made $50,000 alone off their huge attendance to see Jackie Robinson. Even though there were many economic pros to Robinson breaking the color barrier, there were also some cons. The Negro leagues fell apart causing job loss and an economic blow. All in all Jackie Robinson made a huge economic impact on Major League Baseball.
