Historical Context
When Jackie Robinson was alive, The United States was a very segregated place. Whites and Blacks were basically living two different worlds. As in Jackie Robinson's case, no African Americans were able to play any sports or do anything that Whites did too. Robinson however, changed that forever. He integrated the MLB and change the way African Americans were looked at.
